Kate Brooks
Podiatrist
Kate graduated from QUT with a Bachelor of
Health Science (Podiatry) in 2010. Prior
to returning to the Gladstone area to work locally in 2013, she had spent 2
years in Wollongong working in clinics that focussed on biomechanical and
sports assessments and in conjunction with the Wollongong Hawkes Basketball
team. Between 2014 and 2016 Kate had the
opportunity to live and travel through Canada and the USA. During that time she
was able to work closely with speciality running shoe stores and Pedorthists
specialising in biomechanical and gait assessment, orthotic prescription and
shoe selection.
Kate has a thorough knowledge of general
and sport specific footwear and is able to assess your current shoes and
provide recommendations for pain management and injury prevention. She enjoys
all aspects of Podiatry but has a special interest in biomechanics, gait and
paediatric assessments, running assessments and sports specific injuries. Kate is passionate about keeping people of
all ages as active and mobile as possible and is a member of the APODC and SMA.
Musculoskeletal complaints such as heel,
foot and leg pain, bunions, lesser toe deformities (eg. hammer and claw toes),
osteo and rheumatoid arthritis, in-toeing, toe walking and footwear assessments
and advice, are just a range of lower limb complaints that Kate can help you
with. She is qualified in all aspects of general Podiatry, ranging from
diabetic and vascular assessments, DVA foot care and medical grade footwear
prescription, general skin and nail care and ingrown toenail treatment.
