Vanessa completed her physiotherapy training at James Cook University in Townsville while working as a sports trainer and at the Townsville Hospital. Upon graduation, Vanessa was awarded the Australian Physiotherapy Association Queensland Branch prize, an academic medal, and the JCU Discipline of Physiotherapy awards for musculoskeletal, neurological and cardiorespiratory physiotherapy.
Prior to moving to Australia from Canada, Vanessa completed a Bachelor of Human Kinetics and worked as a personal trainer, giving her a solid understanding of effective exercise prescription. She has training in teaching Pilates and is excited about its applications for people with back pain. She enjoys cycling, running and competes in triathlon, which has sparked her interest in the prevention and management of overuse injuries. Vanessa also loves watersports, stand up paddle boarding, and snowboarding. She loves getting people back to doing the things they enjoy.
